Welcome to Twitterpated Rabbitry
My name is Andrea Edwards and I am an amazingly lucky wife and mother with a love for photography, wonderful family and friends,a passion for travel and gardening and now, my newest endeavor, this rabbitry!
About Twitterpated Rabbitry
Twitterpated Rabbitry is a small scale hobby rabbitry which breeds Netherland Dwarf Rabbits in Middle Tennessee. In 2006 I decided it would be fun to raise and breed a few rabbits. So off to the internet I went to research the different breeds and I was just drawn to the Netherland Dwarfs (Who wouldn't be?)
So I got my first trio of rabbits and my love for raising them led to another and another, until I decided to join the ARBA and begin my rabbitry. But what to name it? Everytime I thought about breeding rabbits I couldn't help but thinking of Thumper from the movie Bambi, and how his foot started racing when he met the girl bunny and became "twitterpated". So that's how we came up with the name, and I must say even as time has gone by it still makes me smile.
As I said we are a very small scale rabbitry, with only about 30 holes, some of which I keep open for babies but there will be further expansion in the near future so check back often for updates. My main color focus is currently oranges however, I also breed fawns, chocolates, blacks and brokens in all the mentioned varieties.
My goal is to strive for quality and to produce rabbits that are as close to the breed standard as possible.
